Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 28 June 2026

Initial draft — this document is a working draft pending review by qualified legal counsel. It is provided for transparency about how Tessera handles data and does not yet constitute final legal terms.

These Terms set out the rules for using Tessera — what you can expect from us, what we expect from you, and the limits of our responsibility. Please read them alongside our Privacy Policy.

1.Agreement to these terms

These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Tessera website and application (the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2.The service

Tessera lets you submit public web pages and instructions, and returns structured data files generated from those pages. The Service is provided on an ongoing basis and may change, improve or have features added or removed over time.

3.Accounts

You must provide accurate account information and keep it up to date. You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your credentials secure. You must be old enough to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction to use the Service.

Notify us promptly of any unauthorised use of your account.

4.Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • scrape or access content behind logins, paywalls or other access controls, or any non-public data;
  • breach any third party’s rights, including intellectual property, privacy or contractual rights, or a site’s terms of use;
  • break any applicable law, or process unlawful, harmful or infringing content;
  • disrupt, overload, probe or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service or its infrastructure.

You are responsible for ensuring that your use of the URLs you submit and the outputs you receive is lawful.

5.Your content and outputs

You retain ownership of the instructions and data you submit and of the outputs generated for you. You grant us the limited rights needed to operate the Service — for example to process your requests, store your data and deliver your outputs. You are responsible for how you use those outputs.

6.Intellectual property

The Service itself — including its software, design, branding and documentation — is owned by Tessera and its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service, and nothing more.

7.Third-party services

The Service relies on third-party providers, including Supabase (database, authentication and storage), Resend (transactional email) and Vercel (hosting). Your use of the Service is also subject to those providers’ terms where applicable. We are not responsible for third-party services outside our control.

8.Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that outputs will be accurate, complete or fit for a particular purpose, or that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free. You should review outputs before relying on them.

9.Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Tessera will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data or goodwill arising from your use of the Service. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

10.Termination

You may stop using the Service and close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms or to protect the Service or its users. On termination, the rights granted to you under these Terms end, while provisions that by their nature should survive will continue to apply.

11.Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms as the Service evolves or the law changes. We will revise the “last updated” date above and, for material changes, take reasonable steps to notify you. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

12.Governing law and contact

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Tessera operates, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Questions? Email us at legal@tessera.app. See also our Privacy Policy.
